The BC Hospitality Foundation and the King Family is pleased to offer an exclusive $1,500 scholarship.
This scholarship is open to BC residents accepted into any culinary approved program.
Whoever received this scholarship should have the same passion and work ethic as Greg King.
Greg King was a 22-year-old with a huge passion for cooking. He knew at age 10 that was what he wanted to do.
His dream was to follow this passion through his life and eventually own his own restaurant. Greg had wanted to attend Pacific Institute of Culinary Arts; sadly, Greg passed away August 2014 in a car accident and was unable to fulfill his dream.
Greg was a Chef at Cactus Club Park Royal at the time of his passing.
APLICATIONS OPEN: December through March every year
REWIEWING PERIOD: 2-3 weeks after review by the selection committee
CHEQUE PRESENTATION: cheques presented end of May
$1,500
Winners are expected to work in British Columbia in the hospitality industry sector for at least 2 years after receiving the scholarship
You are NOT eligible to receive this scholarship two consecutive years
You can apply to other relevant scholarships of the BCHF Scholarship Program

This scholarship is open ONLY to BC residents accepted into the 6 month Culinary Arts or one year Diploma at the Pacific Institute of Culinary Arts
Prepare a 500-word essay on why you need and deserve a $1,500 scholarship
Name or description of the course (s) you have applied for
Fill out the application form.
Provide copies of transcripts and any culinary related diplomas
Two (2) reference letters from non-family members
Should you receive an award from the BC Hospitality Foundation, as a condition to your acceptance of this award, you agree that neither the BC Hospitality Foundation nor any of its officers, directors, employees or agents shall be responsible for any and all costs and expenses (other than, but not specifically limited to, tuition and other items identified in writing by the grantor of this scholarship). Should you receive an award from the BC Hospitality Foundation, permission is granted to use your name for publicity purposes.
