The BC Hospitality Foundation has several scholarships available for individuals in the hospitality industry throughout BC. Deadlines and application criteria vary.

Industry Scholarship

Industry Scholarships are available annually for children of hospitality workers who have worked in the industry for 5+ years. This is a legacy scholarship to support families in the industry.

Applications OPEN all year.

Sommelier Scholarship

These scholarships are sponsored by Laughing Stock WineryHester Creek Estate Winery, Da Silva Vineyards and WineryCheckmate Artisanal Winery and Andrew Peller Import Agency. They are an opportunity for hospitality workers to increase their wine knowledge through schooling.

Culinary Scholarship

Culinary scholarships are awarded in partnership with the Chefs’ Table Society of BC.

Hospitality Scholarship

We do not take applications for the Hospitality Scholarship. We fund the scholarships and recipients are chosen by respective program deans, chairs and faculty from each eligible post-secondary institution from students who are enrolled in their second or fourth year of study and are at least 19 years old.

The Greg King Scholarship

The Greg King Scholarship is a result of the collaboration between the BC Hospitality Foundation and Pacific Institute of Culinary Arts. The King Family offers an exclusive $1,500 scholarship to students that are passionate about cooking!

The Chef Nik Lim Scholarship

The Chef Nik Lim Scholarship was created to honour the memory of Chef Nik Lim. Nessa Van Bergen and Chef Dino Renaerts initiated the scholarship as a tribute to their colleague, One of the brightest lights on Vancouver’s culinary scene who passed away in July 2019 at a young age. This is ONE yearly scholarship in the amount of $2,000.

NEW BC Wine Industry Scholarship and Education (WISE)

Sponsored by Corcelettes Estate Winery, Poplar Grove, Quails’ Gate, Rust Wine Co. and Township 7 Vineyards & Winery.

Applicants must be currently enrolled in a wine business program.

NEW Food, Beverage and Hospitality Scholarship

Sponsored by Lulu Spritz.

Applicant’s must be currently enrolled in a food, beverage or hospitality related program.

Graphic Design Scholarship in Memory of Emily Sheane

Sponsored by Joe Fortes Seafood and Chop House and Moraine Estate Winery.

The scholarship is open to individuals currently enrolled, or recently completed, BCIT’s Graphic Design program (part-time or full-time) and working in the hospitality business to support themselves and their education.
