The BC Hospitality Foundation has several scholarships available for individuals in the hospitality industry throughout BC. Deadlines and application criteria vary.

NOTE: Should you receive an award from the BC Hospitality Foundation, as a condition to your acceptance of this award, you agree that neither the BC Hospitality Foundation nor any of its officers, directors, employees or agents shall be responsible for any and all costs and expenses (other than, but not specifically limited to, tuition and other items identified in writing by the grantor of this scholarship). Should you receive an award from the BC Hospitality Foundation, permission is granted to use your name for publicity purposes.

Industry Scholarship

Industry Scholarships are available annually for children of hospitality workers who have worked in the industry for 5+ years. This is a legacy scholarship to support families in the industry.

Applications OPEN all year.

NEW BC Wine Industry Scholarship and Education (WISE) – $1000

Sponsored by Corcelettes Estate Winery, Poplar Grove, Quails’ Gate, Nichol Vineyards, Santa Cristina, The View Winery, Unsworth Vineyards and Township 7 Vineyards & Winery.


Culinary Scholarship – $1000

Culinary scholarships are awarded in partnership with the Chefs’ Table Society of BC.


Hospitality Indigenous Scholarship – $1000

The Hospitality Indigenous Scholarship is sponsored by private donors in the British Columbia hospitality community. It is an opportunity for an indigenous hospitality worker to increase their knowledge through further education.

Hospitality LGBT2Q+ Scholarship – $1000

The Hospitality LGBT2Q+ Scholarship is sponsored by private donors in the British Columbia hospitality community. It is an opportunity for a LGBT2Q+ hospitality worker to increase their knowledge through further education.


Terry Threlfall Scholarship – $2000

The scholarship is a partnership between Canadian Association of Professional Sommeliers (CAPS), Vancouver International Wine Festival (VIWF), BC Hospitality Foundation (BCHF), Meyer Family Vineyards and the Threlfall family.


Wine Professional Scholarship – $1000

Formerly known as Sommelier Scholarship. These scholarships are sponsored by Laughing Stock WineryHester Creek Estate WineryDa Silva Vineyards and WineryCheckmate Artisanal Winery and Andrew Peller Import Agency. They are an opportunity for hospitality workers to increase their wine knowledge through schooling.


Food, Beverage and Hospitality Scholarship – $1000

Sponsored by Lulu Spritz and Beach Bum.

Applicant’s must be currently enrolled in a food, beverage or hospitality related program.


Chef Nik Lim Scholarship – $2000

The Chef Nik Lim Scholarship was created to honour the memory of Chef Nik Lim. Nessa Van Bergen and Chef Dino Renaerts initiated the scholarship as a tribute to their colleague, One of the brightest lights on Vancouver’s culinary scene who passed away in July 2019 at a young age. This is ONE yearly scholarship in the amount of $2,000.


Greg King Scholarship – $1500

The Greg King Scholarship is a an exclusive $1,500 scholarship to students that are passionate about cooking!


Graphic Design Scholarship in Memory of Emily Sheane – $1500

Sponsored by Joe Fortes Seafood and Chop House and Moraine Estate Winery.

The scholarship is open to individuals currently enrolled, or recently completed, BCIT’s Graphic Design program (part-time or full-time) and working in the hospitality business to support themselves and their education.

Hospitality Scholarship – $1000

We do not take applications for the Hospitality Scholarship. We fund the scholarships and recipients are chosen by respective program deans, chairs and faculty from each eligible post-secondary institution from students who are enrolled in their second or fourth year of study and are at least 19 years old.

Nancy More Award Scholarship

Nancy More Award Scholarship is awarded to a student who self-identifies as female or is a member of an underrepresented community pursuing a career in brewing. Presented by the BC Craft Brewers Guild, the recipient is selected by a selection committee at Kwantlen Polytechnic University’s Brewing and Brewery Operations Program.


Spirits Education Scholarship – $1000

Two Spirit Education Scholarships for individuals pursuing a career in bartending, distilling and/or spirits related businesses.
