The owners and staff of the Wheatsheaf in Ladysmith recently held a fundraiser to support their friend and colleague Zaanneta Zaalberg who is suffering from Lyme disease. The Beer and Burger event raised $7000. The BCHF contributed $5000 and Debra Gibson (on the right in the picture above) presented Zaan with a cheque for $12,000. This money will help Zaan with the expense of traveling regularly to Seattle for treatments.
