During the month of January the Foundation was able to support two individuals.
Matthew Loring suffered paralysis after a swimming pool accident. He required a specific type of wheelchair and the Foundation was able to help him get what he needed. He and his family were ecstatic. Matthew has worked in the industry since 1990 mostly as a cook. Despite is disability he hopes to get back to work at some point.
Dawn Marie Morgan has worked in the Industry for many years, most recently in private catering. Four years ago she suffered a work place accident that has left with regional pain syndrome. Due to her condition she has been unable to finish the vocational retraining program she started last year. The Foundation has helped her get settled through a grant. Hopefully with less stress in her life Dawn Marie will be able to finish her course in Holistic nutrition and be able to start teaching workshops and get back into catering.
