Founders & Friends: Celebrate the Season with Gray Monk

G&T Hugging Gray MonkIt is indeed a happy #WineWednesday!

Founding committee members of what would ultimately become the BC Hospitality Foundation, George and Trudy Heiss of Gray Monk Estate Winery are again showing their commitment to their industry and their community by donating 50 cents from every bottle of Gray Monk wine sold at BC Liquor Stores (until January 2, 2016) to the BCHF. There’s never been a better time to enjoy delicious BC wine – stock up for the holidays.

George and Trudy recall, “We became involved at the beginning of the Foundation when our dear friend Michael Willingham became ill and he did not have the financial resources to receive treatment. We felt it important to support our own industry during challenging times. At critical moments in one’s life every bit of support helps.”

Innovators from the start, Gray Monk was established in 1972 and remains as British Columbia’s oldest family-owned and operated winery. The founders recently celebrated three monumental milestones: 33 years of winemaking, 43 years of grape growing and 53 years of marriage. Today, they own and maintain over 75 acres of lush vineyards overlooking Okanagan Lake and source premium grapes throughout the Okanagan Valley, to produce some of BC’s finest wines.
