DISH

Like many other charities, our organization has been turned upside down by the COVID-19 pandemic, and we have had to cancel all of our fundraising events, including this year’s DISH event.

This cancellation (while being in the best interest of our society’s health and safety) has resulted in a huge loss for our charity, as the fundraiser typically generated a significant portion of our annual revenue. Tickets are sold for around $75 each year, but with raffle draws, silent auction bids, and donations, we generate an average of $108 in revenue per attendee.

I am hoping you will consider making a donation to the BCHF in lieu of attending DISH this year. I realize that many people are feeling financially pinched by the pandemic, but if you can help, this foundation needs your support.

The BCHF continues to receive applications from potential beneficiaries and we continue to operate our scholarship program. So far this year we have supported 10 individuals who were facing financial crisis due to incredibly tragic health issues, from car accidents to cancer treatments to mental health issues; additionally, we have awarded over $50,000 in scholarships. As a last resort charity, these applicants do not have anywhere else to go for support.
