Imagine this: you’ve worked for 30 years at a hotel, starting at the bottom, earning minimum wage, all the while raising a young family, struggling to make ends meet. You worked tirelessly to carve out a career for yourself while providing for children whose financial needs are immense. Finally you’ve worked your way up the ranks, and your children are ready to strike out on their own, but now they’re in need of money to support their education.

Don’t worry, help is here. The BC Hospitality Foundation (BCHF) has a scholarship for that.

Applications are open now, but only until May 30, 2016 for the BCHF’s Industry Scholarships, a special initiative dedicated to children of industry professionals, seeking to launch a career in hospitality.

Founded in 2006, the BCHF not only offers a healthy scholarship program to foster the development of the hospitality workers of tomorrow, but also supports hospitality workers facing a financial crisis due to a medical condition.

The BCHF works closely with colleges, universities, hospitality and culinary schools, as well as industry partners to identify and support future leaders. Parents working in the food & beverage, hospitality, or culinary industry (including suppliers and distributors) now have the opportunity to apply directly to the Foundation for scholarships for their own children.
